We now return to "Survivor," already in progress...
All three teams showed up at the first reward challenge of the season to try and win some spices and other various kitchen-based items. The contest had the tribes racing through a series of obstacles, then digging under a log to pull themselves through to the other side, then digging up three bags of balls in a large circle of sand, and finally rolling six balls skee-ball style into six holes.
It's Brains versus Beauty versus Brawn this time around, in a never-ending effort to repackage the longest-running reality competition show on the network.
The Brains tribe won easily, followed by Beauty, with Brawn in last. It's what happenedafterthe challenge that matters most, though. Debbie collapsed due to heat stroke, causing the medical team to jump in. Just as she started to recover, Caleb and Cydney also dropped. They were dropping like a name into a bucket!
Doctor Joe finally told CBS Jeff (as dubbed by FBI Joe), “We need a helicopter for evac.” Caleb was indeed pulled from the gamewhile Debbie and Cydney were fortunate enough to be able to continue.
Oh yeah, it's wilder than ever. For the record, season 32 kicked off almost a month ago, with a record low ratings-wise. While the reality competition remains a ratings force —it topped American Idolas the night's most watched —it was an all-time low for a premiere. Odds-wise, no one looks like a shoo-in just yet, and the most out there odds belong to Debbie Wanner, who clocks in at a ridiculous +3260. Maybe she should have sat that one out!
This new season, set in Kaoh Rong (wherever that is), the "castaways" are to face some of their biggest challenges to date. According to producers, one contestant will have a bug lodged into his ear.
When "Survivor" returned on February 17, the contestants were broken into the three teams, comprised of six people. The three classifications - beauty, brawn, and brains - play on the Survivor concept that the winner must outplay, outwit and outlast the other contestants to win the title of ultimate survivor.
And the "Best Odds So Far" award goes to Anna Khait, who hit the BookMaker.eu board at +165. Trailing is Neal Gottlieb at a reasonable +565. The remainder fans out from there.
Self-proclaimed "Beast Mode Cowboy" Caleb was indeed a beast in challenges. While he did get benched, he had a strong starting record to sit back on. At the start of almost every challenge Caleb was 20 yards in front of everybody else. He also bought into the adventure, diving off the boat at the start of the game to retrieve a chicken that had escaped overboard.
The Beauty tribe was devastated when they received the news that Caleb had been pulled from the game. Caleb showed onBig Brotherthat he is critical to any team, and also that he is superloyal.
That said, the odds aren't in his favor thus far. A +1470 longshot at BookMaker.eu suggests he'll either make you a boatload of cash, or he'll be taking said boat home in no time.
